The British Columbia Bereavement Helpline provides free, confidential and anonymous listening and referral services to anyone in BC who is coping with grief and loss.
The Helpline can direct you to over 300 organizations that provide bereavement support in over 80 communities in BC. The Helpline also offers several programs, including homicide and suicide grief support groups.
Many hospice societies offer bereavement support services to people in the community who are coping with grief. Most of these services are available free of charge to all members of the community. Below is a list of hospice societies that offer grief and bereavement support services in communities across BC:

The Lower Mainland Grief Recovery Society is a non-profit society that provides bereavement support services to people living in the greater Vancouver area. The Society offers grief support groups and grief education workshops for a fee.
The Guinnevere Project offers support to families who are navigating the BC Coroners Service or the criminal justice system following the sudden death or homicide of their loved one. The Project offers consultation, peer navigation and outreach peer navigation services on a sliding scale, depending on income.

The Camp Kerry Society runs an annual four-day family bereavement retreat program led by qualified counsellors and volunteers. The retreat offers a variety of therapeutic and recreational activities, with programming suitable for family members of all ages, from children to seniors.
In addition to the annual retreat, the Society offers a variety of other family bereavement support services, including individual and family counselling for a fee, community choirs, workshops, and family-oriented bereavement support groups in locations throughout the Lower Mainland.
